Judith Griggs has a history of sticking her foot in her mouth

(Link)
I was doing a little digging for an article I am writing and found that a Judith Griggs was fired last year as a Conservation Agent in Lancaster MA for sticking her foot in her mouth.

After talking to the local paper, I have not 100% confirmed that they are the same person but it is looking more likely.

That is one of two (2) public service jobs she was fired from. She was a planner in a nearby town, got pissed off, city council fired her. Migrated to the Lancaster job after, or apparently, DURING her tenure at the first job. (Sort of like I get paid my McD's to work at 7-11?)

apple pie event

(Link)
So I created a facebook event to encourage people to rally in their kitchens and make and eat apple pies and tarts all weekend. That seems like a good and tasty way for us all to support you.

Sorry. Don't do twitter or facebook.

Got here from reading the article linked from Huffington Post.

Someone is going to get a pound of flesh from Ms. Griggs (sous vide perhaps). It may be Martha Stewart, Paula Deen, NPR or Disney. Who knows?

I wanted to thank you for the original recipe on godecookery.

My parents have a fig tree and I usually eat them all right from the tree as, aside from jam, I really don't know what to do with figs.

Now I'm going to try a pie with apples and pears using your recipe. I assume you use the figs fresh. I'm also considering using the new variety of honey crisp apples rather than the golden delicious since there is little sugar in the recipe.

As for Ms. Griggs, I don't imagine her magazine is going to be in business much longer. I know you feel violated, but let it go. Bigger fish with deeper pockets will take her down.

Just sit back and watch the show. Have a piece of pie perhaps.

What's so funny about this to me is that I came upon those pie recipes *years* ago while surfing around for mead recipes & thought "this is exactly why I love the Internet, where else could you find something like this?" I guess now we know. Full circle. LOL

serendipity

(Link)
And in a complete coincidence, since the menu was set before your original blog, the feast I was at tonight served Tartys in Applis as the final course. I giggled and ended up telling the rest of my table about your kerfluffle.

It was a really good tart! Thanks.

Hey Monica.

Wow, eh?
Listen, do you still have that message Judith left on your voicemail? You could sell that as I'm sure a few big pop culture websites would love to get their hands on it. Think of the traffic it would drive for them.

Just a thought. It's just so hot right now.

According to my religious beliefs, Monica Gaudio successfully defended her use of correct copyright in terms of what is avaliable for who and by who on the internet. Monica, I would like to thank you for standing strong against the storm you have recently faced. Keep baking those pies, girl!

I think that your religious beliefs are totally wrong and that you have no idea what your talking about. DON'T MAKE ME BRING JESUS H. CHRIST INTO THIS!!! (My man.) everything you just said makes absolutely no sense and I demand you take it back immediately. I am terribly offended by your statement. In the words of Michael Scott. "Game. Set. Match. Win. Point. Michael Scott."

EXCUSE ME SIR. All my life I have toiled in the dirt and sod of Shrute farms, building up a name for myself. All my life I have been critized, rejected, thrown into large bodies of water. And now? Now--there is you. The only obstacle between me and a decent pair of socks. Because I love socks. In the words of my dear friend Stanley Hudson, "DID I STUTTAH?"
