About WOOPS! My apology

Previous Entry WOOPS! My apology Nov. 10th, 2010 @ 12:37 pm Next Entry
From Akiva -- my attorney

Monica, you're officially my favorite client ever. And not just because I'm laughing out loud at the moment (Tehila's my *daughter*, not my *dog*, and you just validated the entire premise of the game "Telephone" :)

(And yes, you have my full permission to reprint this e-mail if you want :P )

Akiva

Woops! My bad! :)

Is there a way that we can help to fund the retention of your attorney?

Really - no. That would likely infringe on her copyright. I can quote under fair use, which is what I did.

Judith Griggs speaks to Daily Hampshire Gazette

This is the first time I've seen that she's spoken publicly about this. Thought you might like the link:

I'm a massive fan of how biased that article is.

If you can't take the heat, Judith, get out of the kitchen.

I love how it doesn't even mention the other instances of plagiarism that have been discovered since this whole thing exploded. They make it sound like she slipped up once instead of engaging in a steady stream of plagiarism. It slipped her mind? Though layout and everything? That's not one slip-up, it's gross negligence at best and knowing theft at worst.

Re: Judith Griggs speaks to Daily Hampshire Gazette

Toward the end, the article does mention the 160+ instances of Cooks Source swiping material from elsewhere. Griggs called that number "inflated" and said she couldn't comment on specifics since she hadn't seen the list, which is funny since it's available online.

I also like how Griggs said she doesn't know the "finer points" of copyright law. Yeah, that's an understatement, considering how she seems to think the web is public domain.
